Now that summer is here, it's the perfect time to read a good book, whether you're lounging by the pool, sitting on a sandy beach, or just relaxing in your backyard. Here’s a reading list of some of my favorites to will keep you entertained, inspired, and informed all summer long.

1. Coach Builder by Donald Miller

What is it about?

"Coach Builder" is a practical guide to building a successful coaching business. Whether you are thinking about starting a coaching business to diversify your career and income or if you are already working as a coach, Donald Miller shares strategies for attracting clients, creating effective coaching programs, and scaling your business for long-term success. This book is not only for business coaches, but also if you teach or advise others, such as a yoga teacher or gardening expert.

Why read?

This book is not about how to coach but how to build a coaching business. It is very practical and focuses on building your product offering, how to manage your clients, the marketing funnel and product ladder, etc.

Listen or read?

Both. I like to listen to the book first to get a overview of the content and make some notes as I listen. Since there are so many practical details in the book, I go back to the printed version when it comes to implementing the content.

2. Think Again by Adam Grant

What is it about?

In "Think Again," organizational psychologist Adam Grant explores the importance of rethinking and unlearning. In our fast-changing, complex world, the ability to change your mind is a skill that matters. We need to be able to question our beliefs and adapt our thinking rather than being too confident in our beliefs and opinions.

Why read?

Grant’s insights are especially relevant in today’s rapidly changing world. This book challenges you to be flexibe and open-minded and gives you plenty of food for thought. It will help you to take a step back and look at things from a distance.

Listen or read?

Listen. Adam Grant is reads the audiobook version himself and it’s fun to listen to him and the content of the book is good to listen to.

3. 100M Offers by Alex Hormozi

What is it about?

"100M Offers" by Alex Hormozi is a practical guide to creating irresistible business offers that customers can't refuse. Hormozi shares his methods for structuring offers, understanding customer psychology, and maximizing sales. It has an incredible amount of helpful content, so it’s worth coming back to it.

Why read?

For entrepreneurs and business owners, this book gives actionable tips to improve your sales strategies. Especially if you think that sales and marketing is “not your thing”. Alex Hormozi is very straightforward in his words and his approach and can give you some valuable insights to increase your sales success.

Listen or read?

Read. I started listening to the book, but it became quickly became clear that this is a book to read. There is an incredible amount of information in there and the detailed breakdown of strategies and techniques is best read.

4. 10x Is Easier Than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Ben Hardy

What is it about?

Dan Sullivan is the co-founder of Strategic Coach and in "10x Is Easier Than 2x" he challenges conventional thinking by arguing that achieving tenfold growth is actually easier than doubling your current efforts. It feels counterintuitive but this approach requires you to change the way you think. While 2x thinking is about becoming more efficient, 10x thinking requires you to think bigger and dig down on what you do best and better than anyone else.

Why read?

This book is a great read for anyone who wants to increase their personal or professional growth. Dr. Benjamin Hardy’s and Dan Sullivan’s advice will inspire you to think bigger and achieve more.

Listen or read?

Listen. This book is about a different way of thinking about your business and what you can achieve. It is read by Benjamin Hardy in conversation with Dan Sullivan, and I love it when authors read themselves. It's more like listening to their conversation. Still, there are a lot of valuable thoughts in there, so either keep your notebook handy or get the printed version as well.

5. The Founders by Jimmy Soni

What is it about?

"The Founders" by Jimmy Soni tells the story of the early days of PayPal and its influential founders, including Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Max Levchin. It chronicles the challenges, innovations, and successes that shaped one of the most important tech companies.

Why read?

This book provides a fascinating look at the origins of a tech giant and the visionary minds behind it. It’s an inspiring read for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, technology, and the dynamics of startup culture.

Listen. The audiobook brings the exciting story of PayPal’s early days to life, making it the perfect companion for summer listening.
